What is GIS.XL

Excel has around the world a billion of users. 80% of all data stored in Excel has a spatial character. So we can assume that Excel users have a billions of datasets that can be displayed or interpreted in the form of maps. Tools and features for spatial data analysis in Excel are very limited. If you want to show these data, you often have to use other third-party software and you must transfer them in readable form (e.g. CSV files).

Probably the most prestigious group of solutions for spatial data analysis is GIS (Geographical Information System). The GIS.XL add-in is also a GIS application. Only much easier to use, with carefully selected features and powerful integration with Excel.
