Excel has around the world a billion of users. 80% of all data stored in Excel has a spatial
character. So we can assume that Excel users have a billions of datasets that can be displayed
or interpreted in the form of maps. Tools and features for spatial data analysis in Excel are
very limited. If you want to show these data, you often have to use other third-party software
and you must transfer them in readable form (e.g. CSV files).
